You are invited to join The First Annual Imperial Beach
Lifeguard Association (IBLA) Golf Tournament on May 4, 2007 at
the Eastlake Country Club and Golf Course. All proceeds from
this fun event will support IBLA community education programs
and Hoag Hospital of Newport Beach's Project Wipeout.
Enclosed you will find a fact sheet with an overview of the
event and sponsorship breakdown. A donation form has been
provided should you choose to donate an item for our raffle or
silent auction; or, please join the members of the IBLA and
participate in the event itself!
The mission of Project Wipeout, is to save lives and
prevent injuries at our nation’s beaches by developing and
publishing beach safety information. The initiative focuses its
efforts on those most at risk – children and young people
between the ages of 16 and 30 - about the potential dangers that
exist at our beaches and other open bodies of water, and the
types of injuries that occur and how to prevent them.
The IBLA, consisting primarily of CITY OF IMPERIAL BEACH
Lifeguards, is an honorable member of the community and
steadfast promoter of public safety and ocean awareness. Such
programs include the Imperial Beach Junior Lifeguards, The
Baja California Volunteer Lifeguard Project, and The Bike Rodeo.
The Baja California Volunteer Lifeguard Project has received
statewide notoriety and we look forward to continuing to lead
the way in training, advising, and implementing lifeguarding
essentials to dangerous and unguarded beaches frequented by
Mexican citizens and American tourists year-round.
On Behalf of Project Wipeout and the IBLA, I thank you for your
time and consideration. If you have any questions or need
additional information, feel free to contact me at (619)
316-0835.
Yours in Lifesaving,
Michael Pilgrim
