2009 Miss Imperial Beach

In answering her on stage interview question, Jennifer Santiago defined success as setting goals and then achieving them. That thought was brought to reality Saturday night for the 19 year old Cal State San Marcos student as she was crowned Miss Imperial Beach 2009, at the 59th anniversary pageant.

Miss Santiago is the daughter of Katia and Jessie Santiago and sister to Jay-Dee. She is a graduate of Mar Vista High School and currently attending Cal State San Marcos, where she is working toward her degree in criminology.

In addition to the Queen, two Princesses were also crowned. Cecilia Rodriguez, 16, and Marissa Bradley, 18, are the First and Second Runners-Up, respectively. On hand to help with the coronation of Miss Imperial Beach 2009 was Miss Greater San Diego Teen USA, Taylor Snyder; Miss Vista, Lisa Hendrix; and Miss Poway, Samantha Mullett. Helen Rigby, Miss Teen Vista 2008, was the event's Mistress of Ceremonies. Judges for the pageant were former Imperial Beach Mayor Diane Rose, former Imperial Beach City Councilman and pageant director for 25 years Bud Harbin, Miss Greater San Diego USA , Jessica Morgan, and fashion stylist Susan Harvey. The pageant is sponsored by the Imperial Beach Chamber of Commerce and directed by Amanda Rigby. For more information on the pageant, please visit their page at myspace.com/missimperialbeach
